Traditional Chinese Medicine Definition

Yang痿, also known as erectile dysfunction, is referred to as "Yang痿" in traditional Chinese medicine. As recorded in "Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine": "Yang痿 is characterized by the inability of a man to achieve an erection, or an erection that is not firm, or firmness that does not last long, leading to the inability to engage in sexual activity." This condition primarily manifests as a decline in male sexual function, making it difficult to complete normal sexual intercourse.

In clinical practice, Yang痿 is a common kidney-related disease in traditional Chinese medicine. Its core pathogenesis is the decline of kidney Yang, leading to malnourishment of the tendons. Common precipitating factors include emotional disorders, irregular sexual activity, excessive mental strain, and more. During the process of differentiation, it is essential to differentiate between cold, heat, deficiency, and excess:

1. Deficiency of the Gate of Life Fire: Manifested by the inability to achieve an erection, thin and cold seminal fluid, dizziness, tinnitus, and pale complexion. Treatment should focus on warming the kidneys and strengthening Yang, as well as nourishing the kidneys and replenishing essence.
2. Deficiency of both the Heart and Spleen: Manifested by the inability to achieve an erection, palpitations, insomnia, fatigue, and decreased appetite. Treatment should aim to tonify the heart and spleen, nourish the blood, and replenish the tendons.

Overall调理Direction: In clinical practice, the treatment of Yang痿 emphasizes the harmonization of Yin and Yang, tonifying the liver and kidneys, and adopting appropriate treatment methods based on specific patterns. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that by adjusting lifestyle, dietary nourishment, and herbal medicine treatment, the symptoms of Yang痿 can be improved, and quality of life can be enhanced.
