Traditional Chinese Medicine Definition

Jin injury, also known as soft tissue injury, is a type of limb meridian disease in traditional Chinese medicine. According to the records in "Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine," jin injury refers to a pathological condition where the soft tissues such as tendons, ligaments, and muscles of the human body are damaged by external forces, leading to symptoms such as swelling, pain, and limited movement. The etiology is often related to external injuries such as falls, twists, and pulls.

In clinical practice, jin injury is a common limb meridian disease in traditional Chinese medicine. Its core pathogenesis is the damage to the meridians and collaterals, with obstructed circulation of Qi and blood. Common triggers include falls, twists, and overexertion. In the process of differentiation, attention should be paid to the following key points:

1. Blood stasis syndrome: The injured area is swollen and bruised, with fixed pain and limited movement.
2. Nutritional deficiency of meridians and collaterals: Long-term fatigue leads to soreness and hidden pain, with weakened movement.

In clinical differentiation, attention should also be given to changes in cold, heat, deficiency, and excess. The direction of regulation is to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, or nourish the blood and relax the tendons, and relieve pain. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the treatment of jin injury should focus on regulating the meridians and collaterals, combined with external treatments such as massage and plasters, to promote the circulation of Qi and blood, and achieve the goal of restoring the function of the muscles and tendons.
