Traditional Chinese Medicine Definition
Flat Warts, also known as flat warts, are categorized under "Wart Lesions" in traditional Chinese medicine. According to the "Internal Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine," flat warts are caused by the binding of wind pathogenic factors to the skin, or due to liver depression and qi stagnation, and blood stasis in the meridians. They are characterized by flat papules on the skin, which are smooth in texture and have a color similar to normal skin, commonly found on areas such as the face and the back of the hands.
In clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine, the core pathogenesis of flat warts is the binding of wind pathogenic factors to the skin, or liver depression and qi stagnation, leading to blood stasis in the meridians. Common precipitating factors include emotional disorders, irregular diet, and overexertion. During the process of differentiation, attention should be paid to the following key points: wind-heat binding syndrome is characterized by the sudden increase in papules with slight itching; liver depression and blood stasis syndrome is characterized by a long course of illness and persistent papules. In terms of treatment, the principles of clearing heat, expelling wind, detoxifying, and resolving masses should be followed for wind-heat binding syndrome; or the principles of soothing the liver, activating blood, softening hardness, and resolving masses should be followed for liver depression and blood stasis syndrome. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the treatment of flat warts should focus on harmonizing qi and blood, unblocking the meridians, and achieving the goal of eliminating wart lesions.

Physician's Clinical Insights
Patients with flat warts often suffer from qi stagnation and blood stasis. By promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, soothing the liver, and alleviating depression, the warts will naturally regress.
